Jammu & Kashmir: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah have been arrested moments after Rajya Sabha passed the bill to bifurcate the state into two Union territories.
On Monday, in a big move, the centre also revoked the state’s special status, provided under Article 370, via presidential order.
Mehbooba Mufti has been taken to Hari Niwas – a VVIP state guest house. The two were put under house arrest late last night as the authorities clamped restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC.
