Bengaluru: Leaving a secure corporate job is a difficult decision for many professionals, especially when family responsibilities and financial uncertainties are involved. But for Pradeep Kannan, a former Oracle manager in Bengaluru, taking that leap at the age of 33 marked the beginning of a successful entrepreneurial journey.

Seven years after leaving his corporate career to establish The Falooda Shop, Kannan has once again chosen to step out of his comfort zone and start building a new brand from scratch. Sharing his journey on social media, he reflected on the challenges, risks and lessons that have shaped his entrepreneurial path.

Betting on yourself

Kannan recalled that leaving a stable job was not an easy choice. With a young family, ageing parents and no financial safety net, many questioned his decision.

However, he believed that success begins with self-belief. “If you don’t bet on yourself, nobody else will,” he wrote, encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to trust their instincts even when the future seems uncertain.

Customers value results, not struggles

One of Kannan’s biggest lessons is that customers are interested in the quality of a product rather than the hardships faced by its founder.

He advised entrepreneurs to focus on building products and services that keep customers coming back instead of expecting sympathy for the challenges of running a business.

Small improvements lead to success

Kannan said The Falooda Shop did not become successful through one major breakthrough. Instead, the business grew by making small improvements consistently over time.

According to him, gradual progress often produces better long-term results than waiting for one transformative moment.

Growth begins beyond comfort

Despite building a successful business, Kannan chose to begin another entrepreneurial journey rather than remain in a comfortable position.

He believes that real growth starts when people step outside their comfort zones and embrace new challenges.

Ending his message on an optimistic note, Kannan encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to stay persistent, saying that what people often describe as an “overnight success” is usually the result of years of hard work, learning and resilience behind the scenes.
