In a significant leap for India’s auto export sector, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx has emerged as the quickest SUV from India to surpass 1 lakh international shipments. This benchmark was accomplished in just 25 months since the SUV began overseas dispatches in June 2023.
Manufactured at the company’s Gujarat-based production facility, the Fronx is now shipped to over 80 global destinations, spanning regions such as Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Japan. This milestone reflects both the rising global demand for compact crossovers and India’s growing prowess in automotive manufacturing.
The SUV made its debut in the domestic market in April 2023, and by fiscal year 2024–25, Maruti Suzuki had exported more than 69,000 units of the Fronx, making it India’s top passenger vehicle export during that span.
Accompanying the Fronx in Maruti’s strong export lineup are models like the Jimny, Baleno, Swift, and Dzire. The company also achieved its highest-ever annual export figures, crossing 3.3 lakh units, marking a 17.5% growth year-over-year.
MD and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi hailed this feat as a reflection of the ‘Make in India’ vision, emphasizing Maruti’s dedication to producing world-class vehicles for global customers.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki supplies 17 different models to nearly 100 nations, with countries like South Africa, Japan, and Saudi Arabia leading the demand, further solidifying its status as India’s leading vehicle exporter for four straight years.
