
German tourist dies after wild elephant attacks on ghat road
A shocking incident unfolded on a ghat road in the tiger valley near Valparai, where a wild elephant attacked a German tourist, resulting in his death. The incident, captured in a viral video, shows the man, identified as 77-year-old Michael, riding his motorcycle despite spotting the elephant ahead.
The video, filmed by a vehicle behind, reveals the man speeding past while other road users stopped at a safe distance. Attempting to avoid the elephant, Michael veered to the right side of the road. However, the elephant chased him, and though he initially fled into the woods, he returned towards his fallen motorcycle. At that moment, the elephant attacked again, causing fatal injuries.
Michael was rushed to a local hospital and later transferred to a government facility, where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident occurred on the evening of February 4.
