Karnal (Haryana): The news of rape seems to be going at a never ending pace in our country. Too many times have we been shocked and horrified by the inhuman acts being done, ironically, by humans.
Two days ago, the semi-nude body of a 15-year old girl was found near a canal in the Bundhakhera village of Safidon town. It was found that the girl’s privates had been mutilated and her liver was ruptured.
The police have now detained six people from the girl’s native village of Jhansa in the Kurukshetra district. The main accused however, a student of class 12, is still on the loose. His name hasn’t yet been revealed to the public as the police suspect him to be a minor. They are in the process of verifying his age.
Teams have been formed to track and arrest the main accused, and are presently conducting raids.
The victim, identified as a resident of Jhansa village, had gone missing on January 9, when she was on her way to tuition. Her parents had reported her missing on that same day.
The girl’s body was found nearly a week after she went missing and was sent for an autopsy to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS).
The head of the forensics department at PGIMS, Dr. S K Dhattarwal said that the girl’s injuries suggested that she was kidnapped by multiple persons and was mutilated after being drowned and murdered. “This was the work of multiple persons who failed to sexually assault the girl while she was still alive,” he said.
