Jaipur: In a major relief for women in Rajasthan, the state government has announced a subsidy on LPG gas cylinders, allowing beneficiaries to purchase them for just ₹ 450 under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). This initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden on eligible families by making cooking fuel more affordable.

This benefit comes as part of the state’s broader welfare schemes, with a focus on supporting women and economically disadvantaged families. Beneficiaries under NFSA can now avail of LPG cylinders at this reduced rate, offering significant savings in comparison to the standard market price.

The Congress government in Rajasthan, following a similar welfare approach as seen in Karnataka under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has implemented several support schemes for women, including financial assistance and subsidies. After the Congress’s recent victory in the assembly elections, the introduction of welfare programs and subsidies, particularly in the form of “guarantees,” has become a trend across states, aimed at providing direct benefits to citizens.

In Karnataka, the Siddaramaiah-led government has also introduced various support schemes, including free bus services for women and financial aid. These initiatives are part of a larger effort across states to fulfill election promises, enhancing the quality of life for residents by offering essential services and subsidies.
