Two young men, relying on Google Maps for navigation while rushing to a hospital in neighboring Karnataka, found themselves in a perilous situation in Kerala’s Kasaragod district. Their car was swept into a swollen river in Pallanchi, where it became lodged in a tree, saving them from harm. Dramatic footage of their rescue by Fire Force personnel quickly spread across social media platforms on Sunday.

Abdul Rasheed, one of the rescued individuals, recounted how Google Maps led them onto a narrow road that unexpectedly crossed a river without guardrails. As their vehicle was swept away by strong currents, it miraculously became stuck in a tree along the riverbank. They managed to escape, alerting rescuers to their location using the car’s headlights before being safely retrieved by Fire Force personnel using ropes.

Reflecting on their harrowing ordeal, Rasheed expressed profound gratitude for their survival, likening it to a second chance at life. This incident follows a similar mishap involving tourists from Hyderabad last month, emphasizing the unpredictable risks sometimes associated with navigation apps during adverse weather conditions.
