A walk-in interview organized by a chemical firm in Gujarat turned chaotic as hundreds of eager job seekers attempted to enter a building for the job openings. The situation unfolded when more than 1,000 individuals gathered at a hotel in Bharuch district, Gujarat, to apply for 42 available positions offered by the company.

Video footage from the scene captured a large crowd queuing up with resumes in hand, then scrambling to enter through the gates, resulting in a stampede-like scenario. Amid the commotion, some individuals fell off the railing while others jumped down, heightening the disorder.

The job seekers had converged at Hotel Lords Plaza in Jhagadia, Ankleshwar, on July 9th, hoping to secure roles such as Shift In-Charge, Plant Operator, Supervisor, Mechanical Fitter, and Executive. The company had advertised these positions in newspapers, specifying that 10 openings were for plant operators, with the remainder for fitters, AOCP, and other roles.

This incident underscores the intense competition for employment opportunities in India, a topic highlighted by contrasting reports on job creation and the country’s unemployment rate.
