Gandhinagar : Due to unseasonal rainfall in the state, Sunday’s activities were disrupted in most parts of Gujarat, including Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, and Rajkot, according to an official.
Numerous local events, including weddings, were impacted by the traffic disruption caused by the extensive waterlogging caused by the downpour.
This unexpected weather has been attributed by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to a persistent trough in the easterlies that originated over the Southeast and adjacent Southwest Arabian Sea, which is part of a cyclonic circulation.
Across the region, this has led to thunderstorms and a lot of rain.
On November 27, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely in many parts of southern Gujarat and Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.
Few places in northern Gujarat and districts of Saurashtra like Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Gir-Somnath, Botad, and Diu may also witness similar weather.
