District In-Charge Minister Kandula Durgesh has reaffirmed the government’s resolve to make Guntur a ‘poverty-free’ district through effective grassroots implementation of the P4 (Public-Private-People Partnership) model.
Speaking at the Guntur District Review Committee meeting held at the Collectorate on Tuesday, the Minister urged officials and public representatives to step up the delivery of welfare schemes and ensure services reach every eligible citizen on time.
The review covered multiple sectors including agriculture, irrigation, drinking water, roads, Anganwadi centres, pensions, and major welfare schemes such as Thalliki Vandanam, Annadata Sukhibhava, and NTR Bharosa. The Minister also applauded Guntur’s chilli crop gaining national recognition under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.
Addressing farmers’ issues, Mr. Durgesh demanded immediate action to clear loan delays and cautioned banks against hiding behind technicalities. He also reviewed MSME sector growth, staff performance at GGH Hospital, and pending infrastructure work at Guntur Auto Nagar.
He announced that ₹14 crore had been allocated to support 3,000 tenant farmers and that 37 kisan drones had been approved to boost precision farming.
The meeting saw participation from key stakeholders including Rajya Sabha MP Alla Ayodhya Ramireddy, MLAs, MLCs, Zilla Parishad Chairperson, District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and other senior officials.
