A man was taken into custody by the Gurugram Police’s cybercrime unit for allegedly killing his 17-year-old colleague in September 2007 inside a Sector-31 school.
The police were notified on September 13, 2007, by a gardener at the Rishi Public School in Sector-31 that two men, named as Nagender and Rakshakpal, had been discovered injure on the school grounds.
After being admitted to the hospital, Nagender and Rakshakpal passed away while receiving care.
A murder case was opened at the Sector-40 police station in Gurugram following a complaint.
The accused, Kamal Singh Mehta (48), a resident of Bageshwar in Uttrakhand, was captured by the police on Saturday following years of searching.
Mehta admitted to the police that he had previously been employed by the Rishi Public School as a bus operator.
“In September 2007, an argument broke out between Mehta and the victims during which the accused hit the duo with an iron rod and fled from the spot. After committing the crime, Mehta went to his native place and later stayed at various places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to evade arrest. At the time of his arrest, the accused was working as a driver in Uttarakhand,” said Varun Dahiya, ACP (Crime).
