Haryana: In a tragic incident in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana, six individuals have lost their lives reportedly due to the consumption of spurious liquor. Local law enforcement officials are actively investigating the matter to ascertain the circumstances surrounding these unfortunate deaths.

- On Wednesday afternoon, authorities received information about the demise of a youth attributed to alcohol consumption.
- The police promptly responded, engaging with the concerned doctor and family members for preliminary information.
Police Statement:
Ganga Ram Punia, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Yamuna Nagar, provided insights into the ongoing investigation. He mentioned that several suspects have been identified, with some already taken into custody for questioning.
“In this case, we have identified a few accused, and some have been arrested. They are being interrogated. According to the information that we have received till now, one person died in the hospital, and two people have been admitted to the hospital. On this matter, we have raided many places, and we have got many important pieces of evidence too,” SP Punia stated.
Legal Actions Taken:
A case has been registered against the accused under various sections, including 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 302 (murder), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy). Additionally, charges have been filed under relevant sections of the Punjab Excise Act, the Haryana Amendment Bill, and the Copyright Acts.
Evidence Collection:
Law enforcement teams have been diligent in collecting crucial evidence, including empty bottles, from the residence of the deceased in the affected villages.
Victim’s Plea for Justice:
Champa Devi, the wife of one of the deceased individuals named Suresh Kumar, urged for justice. She asserted that her husband passed away after consuming liquor, expressing uncertainty about the source of the alcohol. Devi called for the punishment of those responsible for the tragic incident.
