
Hidden Camera Scandal at Agnitheertham Beach: Two Arrested
In a shocking incident at Rameswaram’s Agnitheertham beach, two men were arrested for allegedly placing a hidden camera inside a dress changing room used by women. The town is renowned for its spiritual significance and is home to the iconic Ramanathaswamy Temple.
The accused, identified as Rajesh Kannan and Meeran Moideen, were apprehended after a woman from Pudukottai discovered the concealed camera on Monday. Disturbed by the invasion of privacy, she immediately informed the authorities, prompting a swift investigation. Police searched the changing booth and recovered the hidden camera, leading to the arrests.
Agnitheertham beach holds religious importance as it is closely linked to the Ramanathaswamy Temple, which features 64 theerthams or holy water bodies. Among these, 22 are situated within the temple premises, and it is believed that bathing in these waters is equivalent to performing penance. Agnitheertham is a popular seashore pilgrimage spot, drawing numerous devotees seeking spiritual solace.
This incident has raised serious concerns about safety and privacy at sacred sites, prompting calls for stricter security measures.
