Three-and-a-half-year-old Naisamol, lovingly called Rubia, who tragically lost her father and siblings in the Wayanad landslide, is all set to begin her LKG class tomorrow at Alif Public School in Meppadi. The young girl lost her father Shahjahan and her elder sisters Heena (16) and Faiza (12), along with four other family members in the devastating disaster. By a miracle, Naisamol and her mother Jasila survived the calamity.
Naisamol’s touching moment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where she kissed him at a private medical college in Meppadi and was warmly embraced by him, captured hearts nationwide. Other prominent leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Opposition Leader VD Satheesan also visited her at the hospital to offer their support.
With her fourth birthday approaching on September 28, Naisamol has been eagerly awaiting the reopening of school. Her mother, moved by this excitement, promptly enrolled her at Alif Public School to ensure a fresh start.
Opposition Leader VD Satheesan has personally taken responsibility for Naisamol’s educational expenses. He instructed his assistant, Ajmal, to provide ongoing support to the family. Recently, Satheesan handed over the admission fees and transportation costs and promised to cover all future school-related expenses. He had also extended his help during Eid al-Fitr, showing consistent care.
Naisamol’s grandmother Jamila expressed deep gratitude, saying the kindness they received brought tears of love to their eyes.
