On Monday morning, a group of young men discovered human skeletal remains, including a skull, in an abandoned plot at Venganoor, Thiruvananthapuram. The incident occurred around 8:30 am in Elakara near Panangode when the group had gone to bathe in the area.

Upon being alerted, Vizhinjam police registered a case and initiated an investigation to identify the remains. Preliminary examination confirmed the presence of a skull along with other bones, but authorities have yet to determine the gender, age, or identity of the deceased.

Forensic experts have been summoned to conduct detailed examinations of the bones. Police are also cross-checking missing persons reports from nearby areas to aid identification.

The discovery has caused concern among local residents, prompting police to urge calm and assure the public that a thorough inquiry is underway. An autopsy and comprehensive forensic report are awaited to ascertain the cause and timeline of death.
