A shocking act of violence unfolded in Upparagudem village, Mahabubabad district, when a domestic disagreement over cooking mutton curry took a fatal turn late Tuesday night.
The accused, M Balu, a daily wage farmworker, purchased mutton and instructed his wife, M Kalavathi (35), to prepare it. When she declined, an argument erupted between the couple. As tempers flared, Balu grabbed a wooden stick and struck Kalavathi, delivering a severe blow to her head. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
Local authorities were alerted, and the police swiftly responded. Kalavathi’s body was transported to Mahabubabad Government Hospital for a postmortem examination. Meanwhile, officers detained Balu, launching a thorough probe to determine the next course of legal action.
