The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have arrested a 39-year-old YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh for allegedly creating, uploading and circulating child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on social media platforms, officials said.
The accused has been identified as Kambeti Satya Murthy, who ran a YouTube channel titled Viral Hub (@ViralHub007). Police said the content posted on the channel involved minors and was highly objectionable in nature.
Obscene interviews with minors
According to investigators, Satya Murthy conducted interviews with children aged between 15 and 17 years. During these interactions, he allegedly asked obscene, sexually explicit and vulgar questions, intentionally creating content that exploited minors.
In one particularly disturbing instance, police said the accused induced two minors to kiss each other on camera. Officials have categorised this act as sexual exploitation of children under applicable laws.
Case registered under strict provisions
The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police said the activities came to light following monitoring of online platforms and complaints related to inappropriate content involving minors. A case has been registered under provisions of the Information Technology Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police said digital evidence, including video files and online activity linked to the YouTube channel, has been seized for further examination.
Investigation ongoing
Officials said further investigation is underway to determine whether more minors were involved and if the content was shared or monetised across other platforms. Police are also examining whether any other individuals were involved in producing or promoting the videos.
The accused has been remanded to judicial custody, and authorities said strict action would be taken to ensure accountability.
Warning to content creators
Cyber crime officials reiterated that creating or sharing any form of sexually explicit content involving minors is a serious criminal offence. They urged parents, educators and guardians to remain vigilant about children’s online interactions and encouraged the public to report objectionable content immediately.
