A prestigious private school in Hyderabad, Nasr School, is facing widespread criticism after a social media post revealed its nursery fee of ₹2,51,000 per year. The outrage was fueled by Anuradha Tiwari, founder of the Dharma Party of India, who posted the fee structure on social media, questioning the logic behind such exorbitant charges for early education.
“Now, learning ABCD will cost you ₹21,000 per month. What are these schools even teaching to justify such a ridiculously high fee?” Tiwari wrote in her viral post.
The fee sheet included:
- Pre-Primary I and II: ₹2,42,700 annually
- Classes 1 and 2: ₹2,91,460 annually
- Classes 3 and 4: ₹3,22,350 annually
The post ignited a wave of online criticism, with many parents expressing frustration over the lack of regulation in private school fees. Concerns about educational affordability, value, and transparency have resurfaced, especially for middle-income families.
The incident has led to renewed calls for state-level guidelines or national policies to check fee inflation and ensure that quality education remains accessible.
As the conversation intensifies, Nasr School has yet to respond publicly to the growing criticism.
