In a tragic incident reported from Hyderabad, a 20-year-old student died by suicide after consuming poison, allegedly distressed by the sudden death of her adopted pet cat. The incident occurred in Venkatadri Colony, Badagpet, under the jurisdiction of Meerpet Police Station.
According to police officials, the deceased has been identified as Himabindu, a BSc student. Preliminary reports indicate that she was deeply affected by the loss of her pet, which is believed to have led to severe emotional distress.
Police investigation underway
Inspector Shankar Kumar of Meerpet Police Station confirmed the incident, stating that the student took the extreme step following the cat’s sudden death. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and later handed over to her parents.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation to ascertain all circumstances surrounding the incident.
