A chilling Instagram message sent by 31-year-old Twisha Sharma shortly before her death has deepened mystery and intensified demands for a fresh investigation by her grieving family.

Twisha, who was two months pregnant, was found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area on May 12. Before her death, she reportedly sent a message to her friend Minakshi saying, “I am trapped, bro. Baas tu mat phasna,” urging her friend not to get trapped in a similar situation.

Her final message has now become a key point of discussion as her family alleges prolonged mental and physical harassment by her husband and in-laws.

Twisha, originally from Noida, had married Bhopal-based lawyer Samarth Singh in December 2025 after reportedly meeting him through a dating application in 2024. Her family claims she had wanted to leave Bhopal and return home due to distress in her marriage.

On Sunday, Twisha’s relatives staged a protest outside the residence of Mohan Yadav demanding a second post-mortem examination at AIIMS Delhi and a fair probe into the case.

Her father, Navnidhi Sharma, alleged major lapses in the investigation and accused authorities of delaying action. The family has also refused to perform Twisha’s last rites until they receive what they describe as justice and clarity regarding her death.

According to relatives, injury marks were found on Twisha’s hands and ears, raising suspicions of foul play and possible destruction of evidence. They further alleged that attempts were being made to portray the case as suicide despite unanswered questions.

Police have formed a Special Investigation Team to investigate allegations of dowry harassment, assault and evidence tampering against Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh and his mother, retired judge Giribala Singh.

Authorities said efforts are underway to arrest Samarth Singh, while legal proceedings continue in the case.

The incident has sparked wider debate over domestic abuse, dowry harassment and the treatment of women facing distress in marriages
