I have wife, daughter, son-in-law and nephews; Modi has none: Sharad Pawar

New Delhi: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for talking about his family members and said that the PM has no wife or children, and hence, will not understand the significance of a family.

Addressing a rally here on Monday, Pawar said, “There is no one in his family. How would he know how family functions and how one takes care of children and wife. This is also the reason why he keeps peeping into others’ homes. It is not good to peep into other people’s house, Modiji. I can also say a lot but I won’t stoop to that level. He was referring to PM for saying, “Pawar Sahab is a good man but has family issues. His nephews are out of his hands.”

Attacking Pawar, while addressing a political rally in Wardha, Modi had said, “Pawar has the right to speak against me or my family because he is elder to me. Pawar has steeped in dynastic politics and his model is a ‘special family’ in Delhi.” Modi was giving a veiled reference to the Gandhis.

Interestingly, NCP MP and former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Vijaysinh Mohite Patil had shared the stage with Modi at the poll rally. Modi had felicitated him for completing 50 years in active politics, PTI reported.

Mohite Patil’s son Ranjitsinh, a former NCP MP, joined the BJP in March.
