New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday tweeted in Bangla to declare that he would virtually join the Durga Puja celebrations in Kolkata on Thursday. Modi followed it by repeating the same tweet in English.

“Durga Puja is an auspicious occasion, which celebrates the victory of good over evil. We pray to Maa Durga to bless us with strength, happiness and good health,” he tweeted.

“Sisters and brothers of West Bengal, tomorrow, on the auspicious day of Maa Durga Pujo’s Mahashashti, I would join the Divine celebrations via video conferencing and shall also be extending my greetings to everyone. Do join the programme live,” he said.

The Bengal unit of the BJP has already made arrangements for live streaming the PM’s address in all the 294 Assembly constituencies of the state.

As soon as the PMO confirmed the PM’s availability, the Bengal BJP sprung into action by activating its ecosystem of booth level workers. All the booth committees have been instructed to ensure live streaming of the PM’s address in their respective polling booths.

Senior BJP leaders such as Kailash Vijayvargiya, Arvind Menon and Mukul Roy are overseeing the arrangements in Kolkata.
