New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘cloud theory’ in Balakot airstrikes which was mocked by the opposition leaders, especially the Congress party, has finally been proved to be true by the Indian Air Force, here on Monday, May 27.
Commander-in-Chief, Western Air Command, Raghunath Nambiar said that accurate detection of movements in radar would be prevented if there were very strong clouds and convective conditions.
Speaking to one of the Indian news agencies, he said that it was true that very strong clouds in sky would prevent the radar from functioning effectively and accurately.
On Sunday, May 26, Army Chief Bipin Rawat had also supported PM Modi’s interpretation of ‘cloud theory.’
He had said that there were different types of radars functioning under different technologies in which, some had the capacity to see through the clouds and some not.
It may be recalled that PM Modi, in an interview to a national electronic media, had said that he knew that the clouds would help the Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets elude the Pakistani radar. He had claimed that the experts had advised a change of date for Balakot airstrike due to weather forecast predicting rains, but his gut feeling had told him that this was a better time to conduct the strikes.
