IAF to Investigate Kerala Restaurant Incident Involving Air Force Personnel

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has started looking into the incident after hearing reports about a fight between Southern Air Command personnel and local restaurant employees.

According to a statement released by the Indian Air Force on Friday, there has been media coverage of an altercation involving Indian Air Force personnel on May 15.

“The headquarters Southern Air Command has taken serious cognizance of the incident and the same is being enquired thoroughly to ascertain the facts, in accordance with Indian Air Force policy of zero-tolerance to cases of misdemeanour, especially in public places,” the statement read.

The probe comes a day after the Kerala Police registered a case against four Southern Air Command officials based on a complaint given by a hotel.

A hotel representative claimed that some individuals caused issues and that their employees were physically assaulted.

The guests were asked to wait because the tables weren’t empty when the incident happened on Wednesday night. The hotel staff claimed that this infuriated the guests, who went on to become unruly.

Four Southern Air Command officials were the subject of a case filed by the local police, based on a complaint made by the hotel management.

Subsequently, the IAF officials reported that they were being harassed by the restaurant staff, which led the police to file another complaint.
