Chennai: Speaking in support to the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and defending the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government for implementing the Act, ‘Thalaiva’ Rajinikanth said that the amended law doesn’t affect any Indian Muslims.

ANI quoted the super star as saying, “The Citizenship Amendment Act will not affect any citizen of our country, if it affects Muslims, then I will be the first person to stand up for them. NPR is a necessity to find out about outsiders. It has been clarified that the NRC has not been formulated yet.”

He also criticized some political parties saying that they had instigated people against the CAA for their “selfish political interest”.

Meanwhile, taking to Twitter, former union minister P Chidambaram’s son Karti Chidambaram mocked the actor and wrote, “No reason for @rajinikanth to pretend that he is going to form a new political party, might as well join the @BJP4India and spare us the charade.”

He also wrote, “As expected parrots the script written by his puppeteers @BJP4India.”

It can be recalled that earlier, Rajinikanth had said that violence over any issue would lead to any solution.
