Mumbai: As the Bombay High Court acquitted him in the 2002 hit-and-run-case, they say Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan broke down. It was just just Salman who broke down, sitting in a shabby hut in a slum colony in Malvani area, Firoz Sheikh too broke down wondering, if Salman was innocent, who crushed his father Noorullah Khan to death under the wheels of Superstar’s car in September 2002.
Sheikh’s childhood was ruined as his father died in the sensational hit-and-run incident and with no other option left, Sheikh, now all of 25, had to quit his studies to supplement the income of his family thirteen years ago.

A die hard Salman Khan fan himself, Sheikh says that he has no problem with the star being acquitted in the case.

“I forgive him, but, if Salman has not killed my father, then who killed him,” questions Sheikh adding that for him and his family, the situation refuses to get clearer even after 13 long years.

Salman Khan was acquitted on Thursday by the Bombay High Court of all charges in the 2002 accident that killed a pavement dweller.

Delivering the much-awaited verdict in a courtroom packed with journalists, Bollywood personalities and lawyers, Justice AR Joshi said the actor “cannot be convicted” on the basis of the evidences produced by the prosecution in the 13-year-old case and trial.

Accordingly, Salman`s conviction and five-year jail term on charges of – among others – “culpable homicide not amounting to murder” has been quashed and set aside by the court.
