Jaipur: Singh, widely known as IIT Baba since gaining fame during the Maha Kumbh Mela, was briefly taken into custody in Jaipur after being found with marijuana (ganja). Authorities have registered a case against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Speaking to the media, Singh insisted that the substance was prasad and acknowledged the case filed against him. However, officials confirmed that he was released shortly after, as the quantity found was within the permissible legal limit.
During questioning, IIT Baba claimed to be an Aghori sadhu, stating that consuming ganja is part of his spiritual customs.
His detention followed a police tip-off about disturbances at a hotel in Jaipur’s Riddhi Siddhi area. When officers arrived, they discovered a small amount of marijuana in his possession, leading to his brief custody.
