A third-year engineering student of IIT-ISM Dhanbad, Tanmay Prajapati (21) from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was found dead in his hostel washroom on Thursday morning.

Security officer Ram Manohar stated that the washroom was locked from inside and had to be broken open. Prajapati was found unconscious and rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

DSP Naushad Alam mentioned that the exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem. The body is currently in the hospital mortuary, awaiting the arrival of the student’s family.
