The Consulate General of India in San Francisco has strongly denounced a series of gunfire attacks directed at the ISKCON Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, Utah. Labeling it a “recent firing incident,” the Consulate urged American authorities to act promptly and bring those responsible to justice.

“We strongly condemn the recent firing incident at the ISKCON Sri Sri Radha Krishna temple in Spanish Fork, Utah. The Consulate extends full support to all the devotees and the community and urges the local authorities to take prompt action to bring the perpetrators to justice,” the Consulate stated.

According to ISKCON’s official social media channels, the temple has endured multiple shootings over the past few days, with an estimated 20 to 30 bullets fired at the temple structure and its surrounding areas. The incidents occurred at night while devotees and visitors were present inside, raising serious safety concerns.

ISKCON described the acts as suspected hate crimes and noted that the attacks caused substantial damage to the temple’s ornate architecture, including intricate, hand-carved arches. “The damage runs into thousands of dollars,” ISKCON posted on social media.

Fox News reported that the temple, a prominent spiritual and cultural landmark famous for hosting the annual Holi Festival, has served as a peaceful haven for the local community for over 20 years. The attacks have deeply shaken the residents and devotees.

Local police investigations are currently underway to identify and apprehend the attackers.
