India hits back with clarity as revolt spike post Operation Sindoor
India’s top diplomat in the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, firmly rejected Pakistan’s allegations following India’s recent targeted air strikes, dubbed Operation Sindoor, which aimed at terrorist bases across the border.
Speaking to Sky News’ Yalda Hakim, Doraiswami countered Pakistan’s outrage by asking, “What are they retaliating against?” He emphasized that Pakistan’s reaction implied a connection with terror outfits, stating they were responding to assaults on terrorist hubs, not national assets.
Doraiswami highlighted that Pakistan instigated the current standoff by orchestrating a brutal attack that killed 26 civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He clarified that India’s strikes were “deliberate, precise, and restrained”, avoiding military or public infrastructure to prevent escalation.
Interestingly, he noted that even Pakistan indirectly acknowledged that India had not violated its airspace.
On claims that Indian jets were downed by Chinese-origin aircraft, Doraiswami scoffed, calling it an ego-boosting narrative for Islamabad. He asserted that Pakistan could have used that as an exit strategy, but instead opted to escalate.
He warned of reciprocal action, saying, “We will respond in kind, proportionally.”
He also accused Pakistan of shelling civilian zones across the Line of Control for over two weeks, resulting in casualties.
Just hours after India’s precise raids, Pakistan launched a retaliatory drone and missile offensive late Thursday night, targeting military sites in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur.
India’s defense forces responded swiftly, intercepting the attacks and securing multiple sensitive zones in J&K, Punjab, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.
