New Delhi: Equal opportunities to women and men in all walks of life was one of the long-held debates in our country. On these lines, the Indian Army has opened its gates for recruitment of women soldiers, here on Thursday, April 25.
The Indian Army has decided to recruit a batch of 100 women as Women Military Police, for which it has opened its registration lines from April 25 to June 8.
It has also set age criteria for recruitment. The minimum age limit is 17 and the maximum is 21.
However, it has relaxed the age limit for the wives of deceased and martyred defence personnel.
As part of the examination, the written examination will be conducted through Common Entrance Examination (CEE) and the admit cards will be made available through candidates’ registered E-mail.
Medical examination will also be conducted during the recruitment process.
The Indian Army has made it clear in its notification that candidates who are undergoing gender transformation surgery and pregnant women candidates will be disqualified.
Permanent body tattoos on any part of the body, barring inner face of forearms, wrist and reverse side of palm or side of the hand have been prohibited.
The Indian Army has decided to organize the recruitment process at several places like Lucknow, Jabalpur, Shillong, Bengaluru, and Ambala.
The recruitment venues will be decided according to the candidates’ district.
