A candid social media video by an Indian tech professional based in London has triggered a wave of reactions online, after he shared his lunch experience inside Google’s London office. The clip, posted on Instagram, quickly went viral, with viewers amused, impressed and slightly envious.
The video was shared by Amit Dutta, who currently works at Meta. In the clip, he walks through Google’s London campus, describing it less like an office and more like a “tech playground”, highlighting its colourful interiors, playful design elements and relaxed atmosphere.
Food steals the spotlight
What truly captured attention, however, was the cafeteria. Dutta is seen sampling a wide range of dishes — from mac and cheese to soya beans in red wine sauce — reacting with visible excitement. One dish, humorously named “simplicity meatballs”, drew laughter from him, while the extensive salad bar and wild berry iced tea added to the appeal.
The dessert section proved irresistible, with Dutta admitting he could not say no to an orange poppy seed cake. The biggest surprise came at the coffee counter, where instead of a standard vending machine, a trained barista prepared fresh mochas.
‘This is how they make you stay’
Summing up his experience, Dutta remarked that it was not just lunch but an experience designed to make employees never want to leave. In his caption, he noted that when office food is this good, quitting becomes much harder.
Internet reacts with humour
The comment section quickly filled with jokes and aspirations. Some users said Google’s cafeteria looked better than restaurants, while others admitted they were now “manifesting” a job there purely for the food. Dutta later acknowledged that Google’s legendary workplace culture did cross his mind before he moved to Meta.
The video has reignited discussions around workplace culture, employee perks and how modern offices are redefining the idea of work-life experience.
