A traveler flying with IndiGo from Chandigarh to Delhi on January 30, 2025, stumbled upon a startling inconsistency in the baggage weighing system. Airlines enforce strict luggage weight limits, with extra charges applied for exceeding the allowance. However, Instagram user @thewolfofjobstreet exposed a massive 2.3 kg variation in weight when measuring his suitcase on two different machines.

In the viral clip, his blue bag registers 14.5 kg on one weighing scale, while another nearby machine displays just 12.2 kg. To confirm the error, he repeatedly tested the bag on both counters, highlighting the major discrepancy.

Frustrated, he voiced his concerns in the video, stating, “As a frequent flyer, incidents like this shake my confidence in airport equipment. I have paid extra for excess baggage before, and now I question whether those charges were even justified.”

In his caption, he speculated, “Is it possible to manipulate these machines? I sincerely hope this is just an isolated technical fault.” He further shared, “I instinctively felt my bag wasn’t as heavy as the first machine claimed. A staff member suggested checking another scale, and the difference was shocking. Such errors damage faith in the system.”

IndiGo addressed the complaint, stating, “We appreciate your feedback. Our scales undergo routine calibration and certification by airport authorities. Your concern has been forwarded to the appropriate team.”
