A Hyderabad-bound IndiGo flight from Jabalpur was diverted to Nagpur International Airport on Sunday, September 1, following a bomb threat received on board. The flight, identified as 6E-7308, made the unscheduled landing after a threat message was discovered.
According to IndiGo, the bomb threat was conveyed via a note found in the aircraft’s bathroom. Upon landing, all passengers were disembarked and subjected to mandatory security checks. The thorough inspection by security agencies revealed no suspicious items or threats, and the aircraft is expected to resume its journey at 2 pm.
IndiGo issued a statement addressing the incident: “Upon landing, all passengers were disembarked, and mandatory security checks were promptly initiated. Passengers were provided with assistance and refreshments, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
A police official confirmed that the threat message was written on a piece of paper, but no dangerous materials were found during the subsequent search.
