The boyfriend of social media influencer Reshma, popularly known as Chinnu Pappu, was found dead at his residence in Kasaragod district on Sunday, a week after her alleged suicide. Police are treating the case as a suspected suicide.

The deceased, Sandesh (29), was found at around 2.30 pm at his house in Mannipadi in Kudlu. His body has been shifted to the General Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Sandesh had earlier been questioned in connection with the death of Reshma (25), who was found dead on February 9 in rented quarters in Azad Nagar, Kudlu.

Probe into Reshma’s death

Reshma, a native of Alanthadukka in Adoor, had been living with Sandesh for about a year. She had been separated from her husband for a long time. According to police, preliminary investigations indicated that she died by suicide when her boyfriend had left for work.

Her family had suspected foul play, prompting police to question Sandesh at the Kasaragod Town police station. However, officials said no suspicious elements were found in his statement at that time.

Reshma was active on Instagram and other platforms, with over two lakh followers. She was known for posting cooking and travel videos in the Kasaragod dialect.

No clear motive established

Police examined the mobile phones of both Reshma and Sandesh during the investigation but did not find a clear reason behind her alleged suicide. Friends and family members reportedly told police that there was nothing unusual in her behaviour prior to her death.

Officials stated that investigations into both deaths are ongoing.
