Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is mourning the loss of her mother, Kim Fernandez, who passed away earlier today after being hospitalized for a while. The news was shared by Instant Bollywood via Instagram, though an official statement from the Fernandez family is yet to be released.
Kim had been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital and was under intensive care following a heart stroke. Jacqueline was frequently seen at the hospital in recent days, visibly distressed, staying close to her mother through her critical condition. On Wednesday, she was spotted arriving at the hospital wearing a white salwar kameez and a black mask, swiftly entering the building without speaking to the media.
Reports from Hindustan Times had earlier confirmed Kim’s fragile health, noting that Jacqueline had put all work commitments on hold to be by her mother’s side. This included canceling a planned performance at the IPL 2025 opening ceremony in Guwahati on March 26.
Kim Fernandez had faced health challenges before. She previously suffered a stroke in 2022 and was hospitalized in Bahrain. With Malaysian and Canadian heritage and Goan lineage, Kim had been residing in Manama, Bahrain, for several years.
