New Delhi : In the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, an SUV skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge, killing three people—including an infant—and injuring twelve more, according to officials on Saturday.
The overloaded passenger car crashed into another car late on Friday night near Hakoo village on the Gulabgarh-Machail road, according to the officials.
Authorities said that 12 people were injured and three people—36-year-old Daya Krishan, 30-year-old Sabita Devi, and a 15-day-old boy—were killed in the collision.
Four critically injured people were admitted to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Jammu for specialized care, according to additional information provided by officials.
Under the District Red Cross Fund, the Kishtwar district administration swiftly announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs 10,000 for the critically injured and Rs 50,000 for the families of those who had died.
