Pune: Four Army jawans have been booked in Khadki near Pune for allegedly raping a speech and hearing impaired 30-year-old nurse over the course of four years at a military hospital. The woman who used to work as a Grade IV employee at the hospital told the police that she was first raped by the men in a bathroom of a family ward during a night shift as soon as she joined in 2014.

She also said that she had reported this incident to her superior, a nursing assistant and jawan, but instead of taking action against the men, he too started asking sexual favours from her and threatened to make her complaint public.

The FIR states that two more jawans had joined the then duo and also raped her repeatedly for over four years and that they made a video clip of the scene and blackmailed her with it.

The woman, who was a widow and had a 12-year-old son had also complained to other administration officials regarding these incidents but no action wase taken against these men and that they refused to remove her from her night shifts.

An FIR has been lodged under the IPC sections 376 (Rape) and 354 (Molestation). The court has also stated that an inquiry has been initiated against the jawans and based on the report disciplinary actions could be taken against them.
