Srinagar: According to a report by The Sunday Express, a top security official Srinagar has confirmed that Pakistan has shared information regarding a possible attack in the Pulwama district, probably near Awantipora.
The information that came just days ago suggested that there could be an attack by militants using an improvised explosive device (IED) mounted on a vehicle. Following this, the entire security grid in J&K is on alert
According to the report, the official said that the Pakistanis shared the information with India’s High Commission in Islamabad. They shared the same information with the USA, who in turn informed India, the official added.
The attack was possibly being planned to avenge the killing of Zakir Musa, who was killed in an operation in Tral last month. Musa founded and headed an al-Qaeda affiliate named Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind in Kashmir after parting ways with the Hizbul Mujahideen in 2017.
