A junior resident doctor has been suspended by the administration of Dr. S.N. Medical College after a video surfaced allegedly showing him abusing and shouting at a canteen operator within the premises of Mathuradas Mathur Hospital (MDM Hospital).

According to officials, the incident occurred late Sunday night at a canteen located inside the hospital campus. The viral footage purportedly shows the doctor using abusive language and behaving aggressively towards the staff member.

Swift action by administration

Taking immediate action, the college management suspended junior resident Vaibhav Siyag and constituted an enquiry committee to investigate the matter. The administration has also sought a written explanation from him.

Dr B.S. Jodha, Principal of the medical college, stated that the conduct seen in the video was unacceptable and inconsistent with the standards expected from a medical professional.

“The behaviour shown in the video is not acceptable by any doctor, especially from someone associated with our institution. We have therefore formed an enquiry committee and suspended the doctor with immediate effect,” he said.

Dispute over tea quality

Sources indicated that the dispute allegedly began after the doctor complained about the quality of tea served at the canteen, which escalated into an argument. Another video reportedly shows the doctor making rude remarks about the police.

The enquiry committee has been directed to submit its report at the earliest. Further action will be taken based on the findings.

The incident has drawn attention to professional conduct within healthcare institutions, with authorities reiterating that strict standards of behaviour must be maintained on hospital premises.
