In a shocking case from Garhwa district, Jharkhand, a 22-year-old woman named Sunita has been accused of poisoning and killing her husband, just over a month after their wedding. The disturbing incident comes shortly after another high-profile honeymoon murder involving Sonam Raghuvanshi.

Complaint Filed by Victim’s Mother

The case surfaced when Rajmati Devi, mother of the deceased Budhnath Singh, filed a police complaint accusing her daughter-in-law of murdering her son. The couple had tied the knot on May 11 this year. Budhnath hailed from Bahokundar village under Ranka police station, while Sunita is from Vishunpur village in Chhattisgarh.

Early Marital Discord

Tensions reportedly began immediately after the wedding. Sunita left for her parental home the very next day, expressing unhappiness and declaring she didn’t wish to live with Budhnath. In an attempt to save the marriage, both families held a local panchayat on June 5, after which Sunita reluctantly returned to her husband’s house.

Alleged Plot to Kill

On June 14, the couple went to Ramanujganj market in Chhattisgarh, where Sunita allegedly persuaded Budhnath to buy pesticide, claiming it was for farming. On the night of June 15, she reportedly mixed it into his food. Budhnath was found dead the next morning.

Investigation Underway

Police arrested Sunita on Monday evening based on the FIR. She has been remanded to judicial custody. A post-mortem report is awaited to confirm the cause of death, while the investigation continues.
