Mumbai: As the Bollywood is under a constant tremor of “Sexual Misconduct” post statement by actress Tanushree Dutta, day after day, more skeletons or atleast statements seem to be tumbling out of the closet. Another alleged incident of sexual harassment is hogging the limelight and this time it is from the music industry closely associated with Bollywood.
The singer, known for his earthy and mystic voice, Kailash Kher, has now been dragged into the sexual harassment row.
According to the reports from an Indian news agency, a photographer named Natasha Hemrajani has accused Kher of sexual misconduct.
In the year 2006, she had visited Kailash Kher’s residence in Mumbai, to take photographs for one of the leading national newspaper. She has alleged that Kher had sat in between her and her female colleague during the course of interaction. Kher is said to have constantly touched both, making them feel uncomfortable and the duo had left his residence soon.
Reacting to the allegations, Kailash Kher has said that he was unaware of any such incident and that he leads a simple life.
In his statement, to an Indian news agency, he said that people close to him knew how much he respected humanity, especially women. He has also extended his concern towards the women working in the media, who according to him face even more difficulties.
Kailash Kher has expressed his disappointment over the allegations and said, “I’m only devoted to music, which makes me what I’m today and for those who might have felt inappropriate or thought something different about me, I’ll ask an apology.”
Kailash Kher was reportedly travelling, when the issue broke out.
Meanwhile, he has thanked all his fans and well wishers, who have supported him through his journey.
