KANCHEEPURAM: A 29-year-old doctor was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly misbehaving with a college student at his dental clinic in Tiruparundhikundram.
According to police sources, a 20-year-old woman from Kancheepuram had visited the clinic of Dr. Manikandan on Monday for a consultation. During the visit, the doctor allegedly behaved inappropriately with her.
Disturbed by the incident, the student approached the Sivakanchi police station and lodged a formal complaint the same day. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and launched a preliminary investigation.
Based on their findings, Dr. Manikandan was taken into custody on Tuesday. He was later produced before a magistrate and remanded to judicial custody.
The case has triggered concern in the local community, especially among parents and students, and further investigation is underway.
