Patna: Left-wing activist Kanhaiya Kumar has been booked under the charges of attempt to murder and will most probably be arrested on Wednesday, October 17.

He is booked under the IPC Section 307, “Attempt to murder”, on the basis of manhandling the security personnel at AIIMS, who is named to be Avinash Pandey. A large group along with Kanhaiya Kumar had visited AIIMS to inquire about the health condition of the President of AISF (All India Students Federation), Sushil Kumar, who was admitted in the AIIMS.

The incident which occurred on October 10, has now led into legal action.

The legal action comes into force after the AIIMS doctors of Patna had registered an FIR on Kanhaiya Kumar at the Phulwarisharif Police Station in Western Patna.

The sources from AIIMS said that the doctor’s association had registered a complaint stating that they were over a 100 people who had come along with the JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) former President Kanhaiya Kumar to meet Sushil Kumar.

SHO said that in the complaint it states that the intern on duty and the security personnel were manhandled who had come to stop the ruckus.

It is also said that the mob had snatched the cell phone of a doctor while the nuisance was on.

Enraged by this, the doctors have warned of staging an indefinite strike if a stringent action is not been taken on Kanhaiya Kumar. They have also urged for tight security arrangements around the hospital.

Reacting to the questions by the reporters, the Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey has said, “I’ve spoken to the AIIMS Director of Patna P K Singh and have asked him to brief me about the incidents that occurred on October 10”.

“We’ll take a look into the matter and take a call so as to what legal actions can be implemented”, he added.

One of the senior leader from the BJP (name not mentioned) said, “You just cannot get away by creating such a ruckus as it is not your JNU”.

The RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) has also not gone on backfoot. It has stood firm with the views of other political parties, which are speaking against the actions that Kumar and his gang staged at AIIMS. The RJD has firmly stood by the stand of a thorough probe.

The RJD Spokesperson Bhai Virendra said, “If the incident has truly happened, then it is highly condemnable”.

The Janata Dal (United) Spokesperson Sanjay Singh has also reacted against the incident and has said, “This depicts the character of a person, who is supposed to be a young leader and having a background of student politics”.

Kumar is currently not reachable and has stayed away from the row. It is suspected that he might have gone to his native in Begusarai district of Bihar.

The rumor has it that, Kanhaiya Kumar might have also been backed by the CPI(M), to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
