New Delhi: Former finance minister P Chidambaram’s son, Karti Chidambaram’s name has been listed in the Congress party’s list of candidates.
In the ninth list containing ten candidates, Karti has been named as the party’s candidate for the Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency in Tamil Nadu.
Karti is an accused in the Aircel-Maxis case, INX Media money laundering case and other such corruption cases.
In 2014, he had contested in the Lok Sabha elections as a Congress candidate from the Sivaganga LS constituency and lost against AIADMK candidate P R Senthilnathan.
It should be noted that a Delhi court has granted interim protection to Karti and his father P Chidambaram till March 25, from being arrested in the Aircel-Maxis case filed by the CBI and ED.
