Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Ayyappa Dharma Sena (ADS) Rahul Easwar was on Monday, December 17, arrested by the Kerala police from a Government rest house in Palakkad, where he was attending a meeting of the Ayyappa Seva Sangham.
Easwar was taken into custody by a team from the South Police Station, Palakkad. He is to be produced before the court soon. Recently, his bail, in connection with a case relating to an attack on female journalists and pilgrims at Sabarimala in October, was cancelled by a court in Ranni in Pathanamthitta.
The Kerala police, last week, filed a report with the Ranni court for violating the bail conditions set by the judge and for not reporting to the Pathanamthitta police station every Saturday, as directed by the judge.
Rahul Easwar is the grandson of Kandararu Maheshwararu, Senior Supreme Priest of Sabarimala. He is also a television personality who has, now and again, been on the wrong side of the law after he came to the front lines of the agitation to prevent women between the ages of 10 and 50 from entering into the temple at Sabarimala.
