Thiruvananthapuram: On Monday, a unique incident occurred when a stray dog entered a classroom at a school in Palakkad, Kerala, and bit a female student, marking the first of its kind occurrence.

The incident occurrence took place in Mannarakadu, Palakkad, and the affected student has been identified as Mheera, a sixth-grade student.

My daughter was sitting in the front row when the stray dog bit her on the right hip. Witnessing this, the teacher had to use a bag to chase away the dog,” he explained.

“Following the incident, she was taken to the hospital and administered the required injections. We’ve been informed that she can return within an hour,” he conveyed. He mentioned that another student was also taken to the hospital, and both are doing well.

“Mheera’s father mentioned that the teachers had cautioned the students to steer clear of stray dogs. It’s reported that another individual was bitten by the same dog outside the school premises,” he shared.
