Thiruvananthapuram: July 11, The Communist Party of India (CPI), which is the second biggest ally in the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala is allegedly disappointed over the manner in which the CPI(M) is tackling the Uniform Civil Code matter, party sources revealed, There was a unneeded hurry manifested by the CPI(M) to tackle the contentious issue, the sources added further.
As per claimed by the sources, though the national leadership of the CPI is yet to take it up, the Kerala unit is quite disappointed over the CPI(M)’s solitary decision to invite Indian Union Muslim League(IUML), the second biggest ally in the Congress led United Democratic Front(UDF) for a seminar on UCC, but to the solace, on Sunday, July 9, the IUML amiably rejected the invitation.
The unneeded solace decision of the CPI(M) to go ahead with the UCC when the central itself is not in hurry, made the CPI state leaders unpleasant, “Why was the CPI(M) in a hurry to organise the seminar without discussing in the Left Democratic Front,” the sources asked.
