A tragic incident unfolded in Bhubaneswar as Arnav Mukherjee, a third-year B.Tech student at KIIT University, ended his life by jumping from a seven-storey under-construction building in the Mancheswar area on Monday night.

Hailing from Bankura, West Bengal, Mukherjee was residing in the university hostel. Authorities identified his body today and sent it for post-mortem at Capital Hospital. Mancheswar Police have registered a case of unnatural death, and investigations are underway.

KIIT University has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. The institution recently faced controversy over alleged mistreatment of Nepali students protesting the death of a fellow student in February.
