A hilarious and bewildering exchange between an Indian woman and a South Korean taxi driver is taking social media by storm. The viral video, shared on Instagram by fashion and beauty influencer Piyusha Patil, captures the amusing conversation.

Patil jokingly mentioned that “taxi ajusshi (uncle) in Korea” often asks the most unexpected questions. This time, she decided to record the interaction. The video kicks off with the driver asking where she hails from. When she replied, “India,” he appeared completely clueless.

To help him place it, she explained that India is near China and Pakistan. However, the cabbie seemed unconvinced and guessed, “Indonesia?” Patil chuckled, correcting him: “No, India or Indo.” Still skeptical, he asked, “Is there really a country called India? What’s the population?”

When she informed him that India is the world’s most populous nation, surpassing China, he was taken aback. He even exclaimed, “China has 1.3 billion people!” Patil clarified that India has 1.4 billion. Finally, he acknowledged, “Then it must be India.”

Curious about her stay in Korea, he asked if she studied at an Indian or Chinese university. Patil mentioned Ewha Womans University, earning an impressed “Wow, best!” from him.

The video sparked laughter online, though some were shocked by the driver’s lack of awareness. Others defended his curiosity.
